The future

Remember, in the 50’s, when everybody was predicting the future? I don’t, i’m 13. Anyway, it turns out that flying cars were supposed to have been invented 20 years ago, we would eat pills that contain all of our nutrition for the day (no more eating), and many of us would live on mars. Well, umm, not quite. Anyway, here I go with another blog post list thing, what I think we’ll see in the future.

Quantum Entanglement Internet Access

WiFi is great, but it’s reliance on radio waves limits it’s range greatly. The same with radio, and cell phone networks. Wouldn’t it be great if we could be standing on pluto, pirating thousands of movies per second with your amazinf Quantum Entanglement Internet Chip. Here’s how it would work (in theory). Scientists have discovered that it is possible to ‘entangle’ the properties of atoms. If an entangled atom, say, get’s hot, the atom it’s entangled with would too. In theory this could work over any distance. You could have a central station thingy that has 2 atoms entangled with 2 in your computer. It could vibrate (or something) one atom for outgoing data, and ‘listen’ for vibrations for incoming traffic. My science is probably off, but I think in theory, something like that is possible.

3D TV’s and Computers

Here’s something less crazy, Glasses-Free 3D TV (Fun to say) and Computers. Such technology has already been developed by quite a few TV manufacturers like Sharp. The question is, will it be adopted? 3D Movies have been around for a long time, most using the polarization method, some using the Anaglyph method. Both methods had their problems, polarization was expensive, and anaglyph messed up the movie’s color and gave many people headaches. If broadcasters ever roll out 3D TV, and Apple ever gets around to making Mac OS 3D, 3D could finally be a normal, at home experience.

Hydrogen fuel cell cars

This one is more widely known about, and probably the closest to becoming reality. The idea is to use hydrogen not as a fuel for an internal combustion engine, but a power source for an electric motor. Basically, the hydrogen molecule starts out with one electron, one proton, and one neutron. It is forced through a material that only allows protons and neutrons through. The electron ‘wants’ to re-join the proton and the neutron, so it takes the path around the material, which goes through an electric wire to the motor, then back to where the proton and the neutron are. The re-united hydrogen molecule then combines with Oxygen, creating pure water. If we can find a 0-impact way to create hydrogen, we’re all set for environmentally freindly vehicles.

Space stations for normal people

I know I am, by no means, the first person to predict this but it seems like we’re getting close to being ready to take vacations in space. There are already companies offering to take people into space on a combonation rocket/plane, so it seems the next step would be to let people stay in a ’space hotel’. It could use centripetal force to simulate gravity. It could be a spinning wheel shaped design, with people walking inside the wheel so that their heads point to the center. Ok, not my idea at all, but I figure I might as well make this a more comprehensive list.

That’s all for now, might add more later, I dunno.
